Virbac Paprec 3, during the Barcelona World Race 2011, has sailed 516 nautical miles over 24 hours, establishing a new speed record for the IMOCA 60 class!

The expert crew of Virbac 3 chose to secure their performance with the latest Gottifredi Maffioli technology in composite rigging. Their aft rigging unidirectional Sling Cables are infact made with the exclusive XZ90 Hybrid Technology developed by Gottifredi Maffioli. By means of a proprietary coaxial twisting technique, Dyneema® SK90 fibres are blended with a Zylon® PBO fibres, allowing to achieve unmatched low stretch properties, enhanced stability under static loads and improved flex fatigue resistance of the cable.

Gottifredi Maffioli also manufactured all the Furling Cables onboard Virbac 3, delivering the highest level of stretch performance, furling efficiency and reliability.
