Quality controls and products testing are fundamentally important to us. In a modern lab, our technical staff systematically analyses the main properties of all the raw materials that we use and of the products made from them. Particular equipment helps us to collect a huge amount of data about the mechanical resistance of each rope and about its durability and reliability in time.

Thanks to a computer assisted testing machine, we are able to determine its breaking load, its stress vs. strain tensile curve, its creep and relaxation curves, as well as its mechanical behaviour under a cyclic load process.

In order to verify and eventually improve the abrasion resistance and the structural performance of our ropes, detailed studies are also carried out. Specific equipment allows us to simulate with extreme realism the life cycle of a rope.

Testing several different materials and rope constructions in identical experimental conditions, we can be certain to offer every time the best product for a specific application.

The breaking load values that we report in our data sheets are measured on tensile testers equipped with special clamps, which are able to simulate real working conditions such as winding on small diameters, friction on metal parts during traction, tangling. Although standard laboratory tests would certainly allow us to claim higher breaking loads, we believe that the results of these tests in realistic conditions are more representative of the actual resistance of the rope and definitely more interesting for the end users.

It must be stressed anyway that the working load of a rope should never exceed 20% of the minimum breaking load reported in our data sheets, which have been measured on unused ropes.
It is also important to remark that the breaking load could be reduced by more than 50% by the presence of knots.
