Gottifredi Maffioli, the Italian company and world leader in the production of high-performance ropes, is taking part in the 2025 Genoa International Boat Show, from 18 to 23 September, stand SS10.
For the company, this event has always been a privileged stage to present innovations and projects that combine technological research with artisanal tradition.
#TellTales: stories that guide, values that unite
The central theme of Gottifredi Maffioli’s presence at the 2025 Show is #TellTales, a project inspired by the telltales on sails, which indicate how to best set the sails and allow sailors to trace the best course. The English term, however, also refers to “telling tales”, becoming a symbol of a journey that unites technique, memory and passion – the same journey that is accompanying Gottifredi Maffioli towards its centenary in 2026, marking 100 years since the company’s foundation in 1926.
The campaign claim – “Stories that guide us. A thread connecting the hands that create to the hands that sail.” – highlights the bond between the artisanal dedication with which the ropes are created and the hands of athletes and enthusiasts who grip them in racing or sailing.
#TellTales develops along several intertwined paths. On the technical side: the telltales guide the sailor’s actions, from Optimist dinghies through to America’s Cup yachts. On the narrative side: they tell of the skill and dedication of the hands that create, craft and grip the ropes, followed by those who use them in regattas or while sailing, across the many stages of life, from childhood to adulthood. On the collective side: the story of the people who have shaped the company’s history, from major sporting achievements to everyday successes in blending technology and craftsmanship. Finally, on the values side: the telltales that indicate the course at sea become a metaphor for the values guiding the company – lightness, accuracy, passion and respect.
Rossella Maffioli, Sales Director of Gottifredi Maffioli, states:
“#TellTales represents a fundamental step on our journey towards our 100th anniversary in 2026. It is the way we tell our story, our values and the people who have accompanied us so far. At this historic moment we also want to respond to the new needs of the market with products capable of redefining standards, such as TitAelium. It is the synthesis of the approach we have always applied to superyachts and racing boats, now extended to dinghies and Olympic classes.”
TitAelium: the titanium trapeze revolution

Alongside #TellTales, the Genoa International Boat Show is the occasion to present TitAelium, the new trapeze cleat for high-performance dinghies, previewed in June 2025 at the Foiling Week in Malcesine and now available on the market. TitAelium has been developed by Gottifredi Maffioli in collaboration with Ruggero Tita, Olympic gold medallist in Tokyo and Paris, and ProM Facility (Trentino Sviluppo).
Made of aerospace-grade titanium using 3D printing with L-PBF (Laser – Powder Bed Fusion) technology, TitAelium represents a revolutionary solution: weighing only 18 grams, compact dimensions (55 x 12.5 x 27 mm), monobloc structure with no moving parts, minimal aerodynamic drag and unrivalled durability.
The system comes with a Gottifredi Maffioli Dyneema rope (DSK78 ULTRA with Dyneema cover) together with a disc and rope-stopper bushings, produced in Nylon using 3D printing and is available exclusively through the Novara-based company. For the first time, a component developed for the Olympic campaign of Ruggero Tita and Caterina Banti is made available to the public, representing a major step forward in optimising high-performance dinghies.
A tradition of innovation
With almost 100 years of history, Gottifredi Maffioli confirms its role as a benchmark in the global nautical sector, combining advanced material research, manufacturing excellence and constant attention to the values that guide the industry.
At the 2025 Genoa International Boat Show, at stand SS10, Gottifredi Maffioli will offer visitors the opportunity to discover the #TellTales project and the latest product innovations chosen by sailors for the great challenges of world sailing.
